Nobody Quite Like ...

Well she is one of a kind! Her favorite thing is to get into everything she isn't suppose too! I caught her in the act today and she just cracks me up! It is so hard to not laugh at her when she acts so innocent. This little one year old could be considered lots of things, for instance, full of life, cute, sweet, loving, but certainly not innocent! We love her to death and wouldn't trade her naughtiness for anyone elses.

Rewind to November 9, 2009

On this day the kids and I traveled to Clermont to take Julienne back home after her stay with us. She had been recovering well, at her doctor's appointment with her cardiologist on October 19, 2009, he said Julienne's operation was a raging success story. At her doctor appointment with the surgeon he said she was a sign of Progress in the Medical World, her valve had lasted 44 yrs, 7 mos, and she has been doing well with her tissue replacements. The kids were sad to see her go, they thought we could bring her back with us on our way back home on November 10, 2009. Since her return home, she has had some struggles, she was not able to do well with Cardiac Rehab due to shortness of breath and was admitted to the West Union Hospital on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 with Congestive Heart Failure (Fluid Overload). With IV medications she was able to get a gallon of fluid out of her chest that had built up since her surgery. I was there to visit her on Thursday, November 19, for a couple hours and at this time she was doing well, her breathing was the best it had been in weeks! She was able to be discharged from the hospital on Friday, November 20. They have changed a few medications and she will be getting into Cardiac Rehab again to help build strength - please continue to pray for her ~ she still has a long road of recovery ahead of her.

As to this day, anytime one of the kids sits at the place Julienne sat, at the dining room table, during her stay Lucy is sure to holler at them "Jean's Chair" and insists on them moving. We all love her dearly and we are so happy and thankful that we were able to help in her time of need! We all miss having her around, Logan misses reading to her and Ethan misses just sitting next to her playing his Game Boy. Morgan misses reading to her as well ~ Julienne is always interested in everything and anything the kids bring to her. Lucy well - she misses her at the dining room table!

Logan's Journal Entry, November 11, 2009.
On Monday we went to Postville. We brought Julienne back to her house. We went to Aunt Peggy's house and saw Grandma Violet. While we were there we rode our bikes. We also saw a dead raccoon. We through the raccoon into the weeds. But Angel and Baley took it out and tore off its legs and ate some of its neck. It was grouce!

Ice Skating

Morgan loves ice skating and the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena has a great deal for homeschooled students! They get to skate and have a lesson for $6.00 a piece! Morgan has really taken a liking to it and has gotten pretty good! I took a few videos of her that you can check out! Enjoy!

Mama - Lucy!

Well, that explains it all. What happens when Lucy is awake and the kids and I are doing school and Ethan is quietly playing with toys? - You got it! MaMa - Lucy! Ethan was sure to tell me, "MaMa, Lucy emptied out Morgan's dresser!" (She loves to wear Morgan's clothes!) and Right after, it was "Mama, Lucy wants to kick down my blocks!"
I convinced Ethan to build a tower for Lucy to knock down using her cups, so she would leave him alone - believe it or not, it worked! Not so innocent Lucy ~ causing mischief!

Morgan needed to memorize this verse and that she did!

Although she laughed so much the first time she forgot what she was doing!

The second time, she kept herself composed!
